A tool for learning diverse dermatology
Beginning in 2020, Nicholas Ilic began researching the ways that a lack of representation can affect the users of a medical resource. After two public studies, it was found that using inclusive diagrams improved participant’s accuracy in identifying skin conditions for a wider range of skin tones when observing photographs.
To help people learn the key features of some common skin conditions, the diagrams used in those studies has been made into this study guide. Learn identification methods, test your knowledge, and read the studies here!
This material contains potentially sensitive images, including clinical photographs of skin conditions and images of the human figure, and may not be suitable for all users
This research and tool was created with the knowledge and support of the University of Dundee.
